Phoenix Closet Systems
Closet systems cut to your walls and laid out around what you actually wear.
A custom closet replaces the single shelf and rod with sections sized for how you dress. Shirts and pants hang on two levels, dresses get full height, and folded clothes move into drawers or onto shelves at eye level.
Most of the extra space comes from height. A standard builder closet uses the bottom five or six feet of the wall, while a designed system runs to the ceiling with seasonal storage up top.
The City of Phoenix lists electrical updates, rewiring and additions among the home projects that need a permit, and it lists painting and new flooring as work that doesn't. Most closet systems are fastened to walls you already have and don't change wiring or framing. When a plan adds hardwired lighting or opens up a wall, we tell you before you sign.

Two rods stacked where shirts and pants hang, which can double the hanging length of a wall.

Soft-close drawers with dividers for socks, belts, watches and folded basics.

Angled or flat shelves sized to your shoes, off the floor and easy to see.

Warm white, wood grains or charcoal, with pulls and rods to match.
| Wire shelving | Store kit | Custom closet | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fit to your walls | Cut to length | Fixed widths plus filler | Cut to your measurements |
| Drawers | None | A few set sizes | Sized and placed where you want |
| Uses full height | Rarely | Partly | Yes, floor to ceiling |
| Adjustable later | Limited | Some | Shelves and rods move on pins |
It depends on size, finish and how many drawers and accessories you choose. Drawers and specialty inserts add the most. You get an itemized proposal after the design visit.
The system itself usually doesn't, because it mounts to existing walls. The City of Phoenix requires permits for electrical updates and rewiring, so hardwired lighting is the most common exception.
